A citywide scavenger hunt
In the first-ever live gaming experience inspired by The New Yorker players explore the city through clues drawn from the annals of the magazine.
The game was designed in collaboration with The New Yorker to be run at the 2009 New Yorker Festival. Tailing Tilley uses New Yorker lore and trivia as the basis of a scavenger hunt that leads players around New York City. Players work in teams to decipher the clues and race to historic locations around Midtown Manhattan where they earn extra points for catching site of Eustace Tilley, The New Yorker's man about town.
Players interact with the game using their mobile phones, texting in answers and receiving new clues and game updates. Over three hours players get the chance to work together and explore The New Yorker and its relationship with the city in a whole new way.
